The next heating season could increase the heat tariff in Riga / day
Petersons said the company is currently buying energy for the next season – about two -thirds of the necessary gases, which are higher than last year, could be expected to expect a rise in heating tariffs.
The amount of customers’ debts for the company at the end of this heating season is approximately EUR 8 million – the debts are based on residential homes for individuals.
With the cool spring, this one can become the longest heating season of all time, although it looked the opposite in the warm winter. « Rīgas siltums » has so far spent 222 heating days this season, which is only slightly behind the record – 225 heating days per season.
It has already been reported that the turnover of « Rīgas siltuma » group in the financial year, which lasted from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023, was EUR 442,014 million and profit of EUR 8,652 million. At the same time, the turnover of « Rīgas siltums » itself was EUR 442 million, but the profit was EUR 1.84 million.
« Rīgas siltums » is one of the main heat suppliers in Riga. The company is 49% owned by Riga City Council, 48.99% for the Latvian state, 2% – SIA « Energijas Solutions. RIX », and Latvenergo AS owns 0.005%.
