After three seasons in Almtuna, Robert Kimby was ready to move, and test a bigger stage.
On April 24, 2024, he was presented as new coach for Djurgården after signing a two -year contract.
On April 25, 2025, he stood on Hovets ice as a winner. Djurgården had won the hockeyall Swedish final against AIK by 4-1 in matches, after winning Friday night’s match by 4-1.
– Like everyone else, we have had our « ups and downs » during the season, and we have had a war to take us here. But it has been an incredibly fun trip. We have been helped in a very good way, I have had a worse day someone has lifted me up and vice versa, says Robert Kimby.

He will continue to have company in the booth of his two assistant coaches from this season Michael Holmqvist and Patrik Andersson.
