The new workshop of the Narva Fortaco factory is opened: employees are required
The Fortaco Estonia Oü factory opened its fifth workshop in Narva, in a new place – now not in the territory of the former Baltic, but in an industrial park on Kadastica Street.
About 30 people are already working there, and another 39 plan to accept in the near future. Basically, graduates of the county professional training center are taken there.
The building had to completely re -equip
Fortaco has already exhausted the possibilities of their real estate in the territory of the former Baltic – there are four of his workshops, but there is no place for new ones.
The building in the industrial park, which previously operated by the Well Technology Oü, Fortaco Estonia Oü acquired from the property owner, Systemair as, for more than 5 millions of euros.
The total investment amounted to 15 million euros. Of these, 7 and a half million went to buy equipment. It is supported by a fair transition fund, compensating for 25 percent of this amount with a dedicated grant, up to 1.8 million euros.
In the building of the workshop, a complete update of the system of cranes, electric, gas, and ventilation systems was made.
The Fortaco workshop in an industrial park actually has been working since the beginning of the year, in January, having established the production of test samples of products, and since the end of February, having started serial production. The official opening occurred only on May 15.
“The Well Technology Oü, unlike us, carried out relatively few welding work for which we needed to create all the conditions,” says Larisa Shabunova, head of Fortaco. She reports that he was even updated.
– What exactly is produced in your new workshop, which can be called a new factory?
“These are metal structures for lifting equipment, for forest cranes and machines transporting goods equipped with a crane system. We produce details for our new customers – John Deere, Palfinger, as well as for Komatsu, which we worked with earlier, ”Shabunova said.
The profit fell, but there is nothing to worry about
The publication äripäev last week said that the Fortaco plant according to the results of last year, in comparison with the previous one, lost 76% of the profit. Larisa Shabunova claims that nothing dramatic happens.
“Of course, last year turned into some decrease in production volumes, which influenced profitability. But the main thing is that huge investments were made, of course, reducing net profit, ”says Shabunova, a member of the board of Fortaco Estonia Oü, assuring that the company feels sustainably, paying attention to the fact that it has no debts.
“This year, the profit will be higher than in the past,” Larisa Shabunova is sure.
With highly qualified personnel the problem, but it is solved by additional training
The strategic goal of Fortaco Estonia is to increase the volume of production, further expansion of the production base, and, accordingly, hire new employees who are required right now.
– Do you have these people in Narva, the specialists you need?
-Basically, we take graduates of the school (Ida-Virumaic Center for Professional Education,-approx. Aut.). Often it happens when people who once worked on Fortaco return to us, but then leaving for other production, who lost their work at some point or decide to move from another.
Larisa Shabunova notes that the professional level of graduates of the Ida-Viruma Center for Professional Education, as a rule, cannot be called good enough for Fortaco tasks.
“But we will first use them in simple work,“ train ”, teach, and after a while they are ready to independently solve serious problems,” says Shabunova, admitting that, of course, Fortaco is interested in hiring people with already existing high qualifications, but their shortage is a well -known problem.
“We can handle it. Training in new employees, retraining simply require more time, ”says the head of the enterprise.
With the opening of the new corps, the total area of the Narva plant now is about 100,000 square meters.
Fortaco Estonia is one of the largest employers in the city, 420 people work at the enterprise under the employment contract.
