The new series « Zero Stars » is like White Lotus – though the opposite
What are « zero stars »?
– It’s a travel program. But it is different in that the conditions are that we do things with bad reviews on TripAdvisor. We go to places that other tourists have felt bad about, check in at the hotels with the lowest rating, eat at bad restaurants and look at boring attractions. It’s like « The White Lotus », though just the opposite.
How were the trips?
– We made eight trips that were five to six days each. We were in Belgium and Albania, but also Japan and the United States. It’s so successful travel, I don’t know why. I think of the old Social Democratic Finance Minister Ernst Wigforss who talked about the dissatisfaction of high expectations. Based on the bad reviews, we had very reasonable expectations. It is a very nice way to look behind the backdrop that shows up for one as a tourist. If you are going to travel, you should do it this way, otherwise you can shit in it.
Was it something that surprised you?
– Often and continuously! You are surprised when you come to a restaurant and try to find something that does not contain intestines, but that it does not exist. We visited a garden called « Doll Garden ». It was a shitty aunt who had made 300 dolls of fabric and straw and placed in a garden. Of all the garden experiences I have been through, this was probably the strongest.
