He denied any relationship with Delyan Peevski, stated that he not only did not be a member, but was not bound by political parties. Stefanovski was the only candidate for the post of manager of the NHIF, but his election on Friday became possible, thanks to the votes of Peevski Party MPs « DPS-New Beginning ».

In response to a question, Stefanovski pointed out that he did not make a single decision himself, and they were from the competencies of the Supervisory Board in dialogue with the contract partners. He pointed out that he had reacted if a decision enters into a collision with his conscience.

Meetings with professional organizations begins

The new manager of the NHIF said that as of next week, meetings with the Medical Union, the Dental Union and other branch organizations in the sector began. In response to a question, he emphasized that he did not like the division of hospitals into state and private, both in both there are violations and good practices.

Asked why in private hospitals there are no public procurement for drug supplies, Stefanovski pointed out that this is a political question, he is not a politician and cannot answer him. « It is better to ask this question to politicians, to those who forge laws, » he added.

He specified that there are many steps to take before deciding which medicines for children up to 7 years to pay by the NHIF. According to Stefanovski, in this case, the cashier will pay the cheapest medicine from a list of medication with similar composition.
