Latvia and other European countries, unlike Ukraine, do not live in war, but they are not living in paradise, says Brekelman, adding that Europe lives between peace and war.

The Minister calls on the countries to invest further in a drone coalition, as well as in investment, so that the modernization of drones is continuously modernized.

Belgian Defense Minister Teo Franken points out that Ukraine is vital for assistance, because it looks like Russia really does not want peace and that Russian activities so far point out that it is pulling time.

Franken hopes that the US leadership will also understand and be able to coordinate new sanctions with Russia with Europe, as the West still has ample opportunities for the braking of the Russian economy.

It has already been reported that the Defense Innovation Summit « Drone Summit 2025 » will take place in Riga for the first time in Riga, bringing together more than 1,500 high -level political leaders, military experts, scientists and defense industry from 20 drone coalitions and other Allied countries.

Latvia has initiated and led the international drone coalition together with Britain. Since its establishment, Latvia has sent about 5,000 different types and performance combat drones to Ukraine. In turn, the total support of the Member States of the entire coalition reached EUR 1.8 billion in the Ukrainian drone capabilities in 2024.

The coalition officially includes 18 Member States who have signed a letter of intent – Latvia, Great Britain, Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Ukraine, Germany and Sweden.

The Defense Innovation Summit « Drone Summit 2025 » is organized by the Ministry of Defense in cooperation with Riga Technical University.
