« The National Theater, complicit in blasphemy! The management must be dismissed! »

Sen. GOLD Andrei Dîrlău firmly condemns the way in which the management of the « Il Caragiale » National Theater in Bucharest understands to host and promote blasphemous « cultural » acts, offensive for millions of Romanians.

« Approving the staging, ostentatiously, in the Passover, of the song » Prophet Ilie « , in the installation of Nagy Botond, Mr. G. Călin (manager gen.), M. Rusu Tibreanu (Dir. Gen. Adj.) And M. Bodochi (dir. Art.)

The show is a sacrilege, an unacceptable affront to the values of the Christian faith, fundamental for the spiritual identity of the Romanian people.
It is inadmissible as a cultural institution, all the more so with the prestige of TNB, to allow gross profans of religious symbols.

Licensing language, sexual connotations, revolting scenes, such as lascivious dance around the cross, and other offensive representations to Christianity denotes a total lack of respect for the faith and sensibilities of citizens who have religious feelings. This approach not only seriously insults the community of believers, but also undermines the moral and ethical values on which our society is based.

The reactions of the public and the believers are fully justified. Many have cataloged the show as « antichrist », a « shame brought to the faith », asking for the boycott of the National Theater and the dismissal of its leadership. It is inconceivable that, in the name of art, the attack of the spiritual values of the nation should be tolerated.

The Romanian Patriarchate expressed its position, taking note of the defamatory use of the Christian religious symbols in this lamentable show. It is revolting that a cultural institution funded by public money to ignore and despise the warnings from the spiritual authorities of the country ”, said Senator Aur, Andrei Dîrlău, requesting in this way, the resignation of the management of the National Theater and the urgent withdrawal of the play » Prophet Ilie « from the repertoire.

« I ask the competent authorities to investigate the way in which the approval and financing of such a degrading show, of leftist ideological, neomarxist-woke, was possible. It is neither democratic nor constitutional that, under the pretext of freedom of artistic expression, to prejudice to the values and symbols that define our identity. Citizens and refrain from promoting repugnant productions, which incite blasphemy, intolerance, extremism and hatred towards Christianity, ”added the senator, appealing to the solidarity of believers and those who respect Christian values.
