The National Gallery will have a new director, Yaroslava Bubnova dropped out of the competition
Regarding her dropping out of the competition, Margarita Dorovska published on Facebook her profile letter receiving a refusal from the Ministry of Culture. It states that the applicant does not meet the requirement for the necessary educational qualification degree. In his post, Dorovska also published a letter in response to the ministry, stating that the competition is ineffective in its requirements to the goals it sets and also discriminatory.
The competition was announced in March, and at the end of April, the Minister of Culture Marian Bachev said seven candidates had submitted documents for participation. He then stated that the competition procedure was driven in a timely manner, unlike others who had expired more than a year and a half ago, while that of Yaroslav Bubnova was until December 2, 2024.
In November 2019, she won the competition for the Director of the National Gallery in Competition with Nadezhda Dzhakova and Philip Zidarov, and before that since September 2018 she was temporarily acting. |
