The mysterious sky body that sends a signal every 44 minutes to the world! – Cyprus Newspaper
The astronomers discovered a mysterious celestial body that sent strange radio and X-ray signals to Earth regularly.
This object, which scientists described by saying ında does not resemble anything we see, may be a sign of a completely new physical phenomenon in the sky.
This celestial body, called Askap J1832-0911, emits uninterrupted radio waves and X-rays every 44 minutes every 44 minutes.
The discovery was made with the Square kilometer Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) telescope in Australia and simultaneously with NASA’s Chandra X-ray telescope. The research was published in Nature magazine on 28 May.
It cannot be explained with known models
“Askap J1832-0911 may be a dual system formed by a white dwarf with a high magnetic field or a dual system formed by a white dwarf with a high magnetic field, and said that the current theories could not fully explain this behavior.
“This discovery may be pointing to a new type of physics or star evolution models, Wang said Wang.
Rarely seen in space ‘Cosmic Lighthouse’
The ASKAP J1832-0911 enters the ‘long-term temporary source’ (Long-Period Transient) class.
LPTs, seconds, or milliseconds, unlike traditional pulsars that send signals with intervals, very rare celestial bodies that emit signals at minutes or hours.
For the first time in 2022, such an object was recorded and only 10 lpts have been observed so far.
The first LPT to emit both radio and x-ray
Another detail that makes this discovery special is that the ASKAP J1832-0911 has spread the X-ray. This is the first LPT observed in X-rays. The fact that the Chandra telescope was looking at the same sky area by chance made this unusual observation.
It can open the door of a new discovery
Researchers think that the discovery of more objects from this kind of object, which spreads radio and X-ray signals, can give important clues about the nature of LPTs.
The co -author of the study, Nanda Rea from the Catalan Institute of Space Research in Barcelona said, “Finding such an object indicates that many more may exist.
The detection of temporary X-ray spread opens a new window of the nature of these mysterious structures. ”
