The Municipality of Piraeus and KODEP offered Easter gifts to the children of the city’s special schools

For another year, the Piraeus Municipal Municipal Enterprise (KODEP), in collaboration with Municipality of Piraeus, Moving on to a symbolic and deep human initiative, they offered Easter gifts, candles and buns to the children of the special schools of the city, in view of the Easter holiday.

This beautiful action took place in the presence of the Mayor of Piraeus, Yiannis Moralis, the President of KDEP, Yiannis Voidonikola, Community Councilor Spyros Angelidakis, the Presidents of the First and Second Grade and Secondary Education School Committees Angeletakis, who, with their participation, expressly expressed their love and support for the children of the city.

This initiative, which has now become an institution, aims to provide light and hope for children who need the support and love of society more. The candles, a symbol of the Resurrection and the Renaissance, are of particular value when offered with care and respect for the uniqueness of each child.

The Municipality of Piraeus and KODEP, with the consequence of the principles of social solidarity and equal inclusion, prove their support for vulnerable social groups and especially children with disabilities.

With actions like this, Piraeus proves that social policy is not only an obligation, but a fruit of sensitivity, cooperation and faith in man.

Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis emphasized in his statement:

The President of KODEP, Yiannis Voidonikolas, said: « For us in KODEP, every child is unique and deserves our love, respect and support. The distribution of Easter lamps to special schools in Piraeus is an act that is done with a lot of love and emotion, because we know how important it is for children to feel that someone cares.
