« The most valuable state of the state » to the collapse has arrived
Discussion of roads in the country has been loud lately. The Managing Director of the Icelandic Car Owner Association says a number of notifications have been received on the board of the company. The roads are dangerous and the situation is serious. Mbl.is went on the run and investigated the matter.
In a written response to the request of mbl.is, the Road Administration says that twelve damage reports have been received so far in March. 150 were received in February, but a large part of them were due to biking that occurred in the West this month.
Hollow damage, however, is the vast majority in the capital area, but also on the ring road in the South.
Can suffer damage and not get it improved
Runólfur Ólafsson, Managing Director of the Association of Icelandic Automobile Owners, says there has been a significant damage to cars. Also, the responsibility of road owners in this country is much smaller than in neighboring countries, and therefore the general pedestrian on vehicles can suffer much damage without being improved.
Then he calls for a national campaign in road development. Hundreds of billions are taken from cars and traffic in the form of taxes. Of these, less than one -third of it goes into the development of the road system.

Goes slightly worse
At Breiðholtsbraut, the employees of the contracting company Loftorka were working on filling holes yesterday.
In a conversation with mbl.is, Friðrik Andrésson, foreman of Loftorka, says there is not necessarily more to do than usual as the company is working every day with various projects.
However, it has been called when it is called when the holes of the roads are filled, and the company has been doing so much when weather permits, which is not given so early in the year.
He says the holes of the roads are now larger and that the road system is actually collapsing.
