Greece – Red Eggs

In Greece, eggs are traditionally painted exclusively in red, symbolizing Christ’s blood. This practice has a deep religious meaning and varies from colorful eggs that are common in many other countries.

Poland – śmigus-Dyngus

At Easter Monday, known as śmigus-Dyngus, people in Poland polish each other with water. This custom, which has roots in pagan purification rituals, today is a cheerful tradition involving water games and entertainment on the streets.

Sweden and Finland – Easter witches

The children are disguised in « Easter witches, « putting colorful cloths and drawing freckles on faces. They visit neighbors, offering drawings or twigs in exchange for sweets, similar to Halloween.
