The Moscow Tea Network will open in the capital

An increase in the number of intoriste trips to Russia pushes entrepreneurs to a more active opening of institutions with a traditionally Russian concept. Co -owner of the CHEF’s Market gastromarket Evgeny Panin and the wife of the head of the Roskachestvo Maxim Protasov Lilia launch the Moscow Tea network. Mosturism promises to provide support, which in this way intends to attract a large number of travelers to the Russian capital.

The founders of the project Evgeny Panin and Liliya Protasova told Kommersant’s launch of the Moscow Tea Chay – a cafe with a tea card in traditionally Russian style. The network will develop in two formats: compact corners working on the principle of Take Away, and full -fledged cafes with a landing hall. Support for the project is provided by motirism. The department confirmed Kommersant that the first institution of the new network will open on Bolshaya Dmitrovka, 21/17 in the tourist-bank office of Sbering.

Such an office of Sbering is another project supported by motirism. The opening of the special branch of the bank is dictated by the fact that a large number of foreign tourists arrive in the Russian capital, which for a comfortable journey through the country requires the rapid design of cards of the Russian payment system.

The Moscow Tea Network will become part of the Moskovskoe Chaypiti festival a year ago, which, as its initiators determined, “sets new gastroedrands and retains traditions”.

As part of the project, a special tea set with traditional baking was offered to the guests daily at 16:00 in 50:00 restaurants and 50 hotels in the capital.

The founders of the Moscow Tea project informed Kommersant that five more institutions will be opened in the near future, including airports and other tourist hubs. As Evgeny Panin specified, the opening of one tea will cost 5-15 million rubles, in the next two years, partners plan to invest 840 million rubles in the development of the network.

Evgeny Panin is a former top manager of White Rabbit Group, founded by the famous restaurateur Boris Zarkov. Now Mr. Panin belongs to 33% in LLC « Veshoschi », which controls the gastromemarket Chef’s Market.

Lilia Protasova owns LLC RUSSOL-SZ and Crystal LLC, which are engaged in wholesale supplies of salt, as well as 10% in the Orenburg LLC “Nature”, which is engaged in the collection of non-hazardous waste. Mrs. Protasova also has a share in the Glamping network “Nemo Point”, which was previously invested by the husband of the blogger Elena Blinovskaya Alexei (see “Kommersant” dated January 19, 2022). Now he is not a co -founder of the project, it is indicated in the SPARK.

Also, the husband of Lilia Protasova Maxim previously developed the P-Holding investment company, among which was the Tomatotoprom holding, uniting tinovable plants. Since 2015, Mr. Protasov has been holding the post of head of the Roskachestvo created by the Government of the Russian Federation to study goods and services, as well as promoting Russian products. He does not participate in business projects since the appointment of the head of the organization.

Sergey SobyaninMayor of Moscow, in January 2025:

« The development of tourism is a unique opportunity to make Moscow more comfortable and attractive. »

First of all, the “Moscow Tea” can be interesting to foreign tourists, says Restcon CEO Elena Perepelitsa. According to Mosturism, in 2024, the number of trips of international tourists to the Russian capital increased by 18% by the year, to 2.7 million. Internal tourism also demonstrates growth. The number of tourist trips in Russia increased by 18%, to 92 million, which became a record indicator of domestic tourism in history, the Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko reported in early January. In this segment, Moscow also occupies a leading position.

“Russian tea culture is a samovar, a large family at the table, slow tea drinking, gatherings at the table,” Elena Perepelitsa recalls. But this tradition has faded into the background due to a high pace of life. To become a new gastrodrend, tea will have to make significant efforts, since the popularity of coffee is growing in Moscow and other large Russian cities. According to the Platform of the OFD, in January – Mart, the number of purchases of hot coffee of the manner throughout Russia increased by 11% of the year (See “Kommersant” from April 25). A noticeable part of visitors to catering establishments orders coffee, and the main competition of “Moscow Tea” will be with coffee houses, Mikhail Vasiliev, head of research and consulting Focus Technologies, does not exclude the head of research and consulting.
