Prime Minister Ünal Üsel met with the authorities of the Turkish Cypriot Secondary Education Teachers ‘Union (KTOEÖS) and Turkish Cypriot Teachers’ Union (KTÖS).

Prime Minister Ünal Üsel’s interview with the Turkish Cypriot Secondary Education Teachers Union (KTOEÖS) and the Turkish Cypriot Teachers’ Union (KTÖS) was completed on the amendments of the rules and disciplinary regulations to be followed within and outside of secondary schools and secondary schools.

KTOEÖS President Selma Eylem said that the meeting was held upon the Prime Minister’s invitation.

« Exams will be held within the framework of the rules determined by schools »

The action, in relation to the canceled exams, “If the change of the statute is taken back and published in the Official Gazette, students will come to school within the framework of the rules determined by the schools and exams will be held in this direction,” he said.

Gökçebel: “Our education system has been shaped in line with the principles of secularism and Atatürk”

KTOEÖS Secretary General Tahir Gökçebel argued that the issue has been brought to the agenda consciously and said, “There is no problem in the middle. Our students from different cultures are a whole and there is no need to divide them.” He said.

Stating that the Constitutional and National Education Law clearly defines a scientific, Atatürk’s principles and an egalitarian understanding of education, Gökçebel said, “Our education system has been shaped in line with the principles of secularism and Atatürk. Our Constitution and National Education Law are clear.

Gökçebel said that Prime Minister Üsel showed a clear stance on the subject and said, “Mr. Prime Minister said that he would solve this issue. Common sense requires it,” he said.

The meeting held at the Prime Ministry, KTOEÖS President Selma Eylem, Secretary General Tahir Gokcebel, KTOS President Mustafa Baybora, Secretary General Burak Maviş and union representatives attended. At the meeting; Prime Minister Undersecretary Durali Güçsoy, Hüseyin Cahitoğlu and Berhan Ongan also took part.
