Čirč. When in 2015 Čirč in the district of Stará Ľubovňa hit the flood, the municipality ordered companies for flood measures. Mayor Michal Didik (independent) investigated for this work. According to the police, he also agreed with the suppliers and also invoiced fictitious work.
The indictment to the District Court in Stará Ľubovňa was filed in December 2017. The case has been dealt with for more than seven years. On Monday he decided, the mayor found guilty of the offense of abuse of the authority of the public official and the crime of subsidial fraud, partly in an attempt stage.
Second conviction this year

Didik’s court imposed a three -year imprisonment with a conditional postponement for forty months. He also received a fine to pay together with two work suppliers.

It is already the second decision of the court to the detriment of Didika this year. In February, the court in Stará Ľubovňa found him guilty of a subsidy fraud in another case but appealed and judgment is not valid.

The court acknowledged the entrepreneurs guilty of participation in the crime of subsidial fraud by providing assistance to another. The court mediated a brief anonymous decision, it is not clear from it what specific companies are and which managers are accused.
They have imposed various punishments for entrepreneurs, depending on the type of work. They were in charge of adjusting the stream or providing excavators.
One of the entrepreneurs was sentenced to two years with a conditional postponement for thirty months. Three entrepreneurs have granted financial penalties in values, EUR 1,200, 2,000 and EUR 3,000. One entrepreneur was lifted by the court.
The judgment of the Stará Ľubovňa District Court is not final, the case will end up at the Regional Court in Prešov. The mayor and the other defendants appealed. The prosecutor also appealed against the amount of the penalties of several defendants.
