Nitra. The court ruled this afternoon that Pavol Ch. (62) goes to custody. The accused filed a complaint against this. The decision is therefore not valid.
On Friday, the man knocked a cyclist (77) in Zobor, who succumbed to the injuries. According to the accusation, he did it deliberately and the victim chose randomly. They are prosecuted for a particularly serious crime of murder.
When he was shown to court in handcuffs, he did not show emotions, he was lethargic.
When asked if he remembers what happened, he nodded his head and answered no in a quiet voice. « I can’t explain what happened, » he said.
« The pre -trial judge in its entirety complied with the Prosecutor’s Prosecutor’s proposal in Nitra and took the accused into custody, as there is a reasonable concern that he could continue criminal activity, » said Jaroslav Maček, deputy regional prosecutor.
« He said before the investigator in court that he was sorry, » Zoltán Varga said about his client. If possible, the accused would have exchanged his life for the life of the victim.
« He can’t explain why he did it. But he is sure he didn’t want to kill the victim. We need to stabilize the degree of fault. We will suggest that an expert in the field of psychiatry be appointed to examine his mental condition, » Varga added.
The expert should conclude whether the accused was able to control his actions and recognize his illegality.
« The client reported a complaint against custody. He wasn’t quite sure, so we’ll see, maybe we’ll take it back, » the advocate said.

According to witnesses, the driver was also supposed to say that he had to try something similar twice in the past and only now it worked out. « The client claims he doesn’t understand where those people have it, they would say something like that. He denies it, » the defense counsel said.
Shortly before he collided the cyclist, he was supposed to endanger a driver. Pavol Ch. He said he stopped and got out of the car. Then he continued to drive. « And then he no longer remembers the circumstances. The act does not deny, but he claims that there was no intention to harm in any way, not yet to kill the damaged. »
The driver reportedly did not know whether it was a man or a woman. He was not drunk under the influence of drugs. He is not prescribed, he did not attend the doctor.
« The client has never been punished in the past. He never had any conflict with anyone, » the advocate added.
The accused says he studied nuclear medicine in America, he was doing a cook there. He returned through Covid and lives with his mother he took care of. Reportedly he is afraid of people and claims to chase him.
The betrayed cyclist died on the spot. She is a pediatrician for retirement. The police detained the driver, he was in a police cell since Friday.
