The majority around GERB-UDS in the Varna City Council block the work of the mayoral administration

The majority in the Varna Bashshtina Council took another step towards blocking the work of Mayor Blagomir Kotsev (we continue the change – democratic Bulgaria), removing three chairmen of standing committees from the coalition with sections, key to the development of the city. This happened with the votes of GERB – the UDF, the local party alternative to the citizens close to the Business Surgery around « Chimimport » and « Central Cooperative Bank », Renaissance and several other business formations on the Council.

The new chairman of the Finance and Budget Commission is the former chairman of the Varna Municipal Council Todor Balabanov (GERB), who replaces Nikolay Stefanov (we continue the change – democratic Bulgaria).

Yordan Kateliev (we continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria) was released from the presidency of the Commission « Property and Farm », in which Tsvetelina Atanasova « The Alternative of Citizens » took his place.

In the Committee on Public Works and Communal Activities, Martin Zlatev (Bulgarian Degree) replaced Martin Dimitrov (we continue the change – democratic Bulgaria).

The new chairmen of the three committees are representatives of opposition parties, which can lead to blocking communication and coordination between them and the administration of Blagomir Kotsev. This, in turn, can delay or even make it impossible to realize important projects necessary for the development of the city – part of Kotsev’s election promises.

In another post, one of the replaced chairmen of the committees Nikolay Stefanov wrote the following: « Why now? Because we are on the eve of the consideration and vote of the municipality’s budget.

For information, in the last 10 years, neither the committees nor the council worked as much as in our term. So far they have been sitting once every few months! And one more thing: parties don’t matter when the will of the corporate masters must be done! Otherwise there are conscientious advisers, but unfortunately they are not free to express their will, it is a pity!

From now on, the situation in Varna will only become worse and let it be clear: while the mutras run the city through the groups controlled by them, nothing good is waiting for us. «
