The Lithuanian Maritime Engineering Industry strengthens relations with the Norwegian defense sector


This agreement marks the aim of both parties to actively develop relations in the fields of high -tech and defense solutions and to contribute to the strengthening of security. The document was signed at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Vilnius on the eve of the Norwegian and Lithuanian Business Forum.

Cooperation with Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, one of the most advanced defense products and system developers and suppliers in Europe, opens up new opportunities to overcome the potential of the Lithuanian maritime engineering industry. There are preconditions for more involvement in high value -added projects and developing solutions that can be applied to both national level and internationally.

According to Arnold Šileika, CEO of VLG Group, this cooperation is a significant step forward – the result of both the maturity of the Lithuanian maritime engineering industry and the sustainable partnerships with the Norwegian industry.

“With a significant experience in designing and building specialized ships, including coastal protection, we actively contribute to the development of security and defense industry in Lithuania. It is one of our long -term strategic goals. Consistent cooperation between Lithuania and the Norwegian overall value chain forms a solid foundation for new common steps in developing innovative solutions and growing expertise in the field of marine defense technology, ”said the CEO of Group of VLG Enterprises.
