The Latvian Hockey World Championship starts with a victory over Britain / Day

The Latvian national team won by 3: 0 (0: 0, 2: 0, 1: 0).

In the 34th minute, after the passes of Alina Shardin and Karina Šilajāne, guard Madara Saulīte opened the score – 1: 0 for Latvia.

In the 39th minute, after Anna Lagzdiņa’s pass, Šilajāne scored 2: 0, but in the 56th minute Liga Million scored 3: 0 after Agnese Apsīte.

Kristiāna Apsīte fouled out all 56 shots in the Latvian national team’s goal, but for the housewives Nikola Jackson scored 18 from 21 shots.

In the other group games on Wednesday, Kazakhstan beat South Korea by 4: 2 (1: 1, 1: 0, 2: 1), while Italy defeated Slovenia by 12: 0 (2: 0, 5: 0, 4: 0).

The Latvians will meet Slovenia on Thursday, on Saturday with Italy, on Sunday with Kazakhstan and South Korea on Tuesday.

In preparation for the World Cup, Latvian hockey players played one test match, beating the Iceland team by 9: 3.

The Latvian women’s hockey team is led by Finn Hannu Saintula.

The road sign for Group A in the first division is only won by the winner of the tournament, but the sixth place winner will play in Group A next season. The tournament will take place until April 15th.
