The Latvian Contemporary Art Center will celebrate its 25th anniversary / day with an event cycle

Since the founding of the LLMC in 2000, its activities had a major impact on the development of contemporary art in Latvia, offering artists platform for creative expression and increasing the international recognition of Latvian contemporary art. LLMC has begun a number of important processes in the cultural space of Latvia, developing educational methods and promoting an inclusive approach to art.

In addition to attracting a specific location and exhibition spaces, events organized by the LLMC are mostly in the premises of other art institutions. The organization’s nomadic activity has inspired the 25-year-old celebration format, encouraging the LLMC as a living organism-mycelium-whose actions and influence threads through the artist, writer, poet, philosopher, researcher and curator-led walks, together with cultural cards.
