The Latvian Academy of Culture invites you to the new actors and directors’ diploma work / day

In June 2025, 27 young actors and directors will graduate from the Latvian Academy of Culture Bachelor’s study program, representing a wide range of artistic handwriting, the diversity of views and the amplitude of acting skills from deeply personal stories to bold contemporary theater forms. This season, a total of 17 diploma works have been created, and 13 of them will be able to watch public during the diploma work show, offering the creativity of emerging professionals in the format of a concentrated festival.

« I am about the diversity of the theater. The bad theater is a tedious theater. So my task as an actor course director was to create a diploma work cycle in which young performing artists prove themselves in diversity. Being able to work in different aesthetics and forms of theater.

Kārlis Krūmiņa will open an acting student’s diploma work program on June 4 in the Small Hall of LKA Miera Street (58a Miera Street) Contemporary Mask Comedy: Dreamers – ironic reflection of a reality that is not afraid of topical topics in society by intertwering its exciting theater adventure. And on June 5, the same venue will be on view at the Nellia Spule show Bende’s daughter. This is the story of artists who crave for recognition and love and look for their way in art. On June 10, the production of Copper Pink – the new actor Eddie Klieven’s mono -show will be premiered at the Willa Theater (Stabu Street 18C, Riga) Be a boot, Who is looking for answers to existential questions: Why can’t you continue what you have started? Why can’t you get yourself in your hands? And what does it really mean to get yourself in your hands?

June In a horse mail will be watched by Marius von Maienburg’s plays Martyr The production directed by Elmar Senkov, which has been seen in the repertoire of the LKA Student Theater for more than a year and has acquired the recognition of audiences and theater critics. On June 13, at 58a LKA Miera Street, we invite you to watch Elina Gedina’s movement show A white dress, Who focuses on the daily existence of a woman – a life that is often unnoticed.

Weekend, June 14 and 15, in the theater house Horse mail There will be two shows. On June 15, Ralph Liepa’s production is expected Cococutors and its owners – Sergey Smikov’s witty absurd mono show, created by Andrus Kivirehka. The diploma show will also be able to watch the diploma papers of the young theater directors. Similarly, the show includes two closed new directors’ diploma work-ups-receiving performances, which will only be seen by the Diploma Work Commission: the children’s show directed by Nellija Spūle The lonely sheep in the world Liepaja Theater Experimental Stage and Edvīns Klimanov’s production at Mikhail Chekhov at the Riga Russian Theater – Martin McDon Consumer skull. Outside the show repertoire, the works of two more new directors – Rodrigo Structure production Sliding Luče and the production of Ralph’s linden Sand man, who have already premiered at the Latvian National Theater.

The opening of the LKA Diploma Work Show will take place on June 4 at the LKA Miera Street courtyard at. 18.00.
