The latest research on the history of prostitution reveals the double morality of a part of the Slovak

We do not know much about prostitution: In general, we often see it as a topic that does not belong to the public. From the perspective of historians and historians, however, prostitution and the attitude of society to prostitution tells many of the changing morality, the position of women or the relationship of men and women. In the current episode of the Podcast History, we look at prostitution from a very intimate perspective: from the perspective of women who have performed prostitution voluntarily but often from compulsion.

From what sources do historians and historians draw on the research of prostitution? When and why did women become prostitutes? How did the company’s view of prostitution change? What is the connection between the patriarchal arrangement of society and prostitution? Finally, what suggests attitude to prostitution about the overall approach to the relationship of men and women across history?

Historian Agáta Šústová Drelová talked to Dominika Bakoš Kleinová, historian of the latest history. Dr. Kleinová has received a doctorate from historical sciences at the University of Pardubice and is currently involved in the project « Women from Polosveta: Holders, Odalisky, Combins, Royal Metrics and Kurtizans in our history. » It contributes to historical articles to Konopí magazine. The latest in her publishing house Marenčin PT is published by the book Prostitution in Slovakia.
