In 2003, Romario flew to Lublin. With flashes, guards and … full conviction that he has just been cheated at $ 4.8 million. He testified before the prosecutor’s office. Even investigators took pictures with him. But then no one knew that this story would have a few more seasons.
Disappeared. And he emerged like a ghost again
Piotr O. served his own. He left and did not change his profession. He started turning thick money again. He ordered Mercedes from behind the bars. After leaving, he screwed people into fairy tales about gold from Africa. He pulled in a well -known jeweler from Lublin. He was to settle the transport of ores, took PLN 3.5 million and was lost. Once again.
He led the trail to the islands. He was hiding there, probably around Manchester. And finally, on May 5, the Lublin police could again boast of success. Criminals caught him in England and brought him to the country.
He got out of the plane like from Talk show. In handcuffs and slippers
At the airport, the 58-year-old got off the plane in the handcuffs. Tired, grated gray. In a gray T -shirt and navy blue slippers. The investor’s aura has long evaporated. But the legend stayed. Because this man could convince everyone. Everyone, except for the court.
Blefs did not work in court. There, his « gift » ended. The sentences were falling without mercy. For subsequent fraud, he is now to be able to serve nearly 15 years in prison.

Our journalist, Jarosław Górny, talked to Piotr O.. They met at visiting in custody in Krasnystaw, shortly after the outbreak of the Romario scandal.
– He was happy to show his face, he said with conviction. He claimed that he was innocent, that it was just a misunderstanding. That he would give away every zloty, that Romario trusted him – recalls our colleague from « Fakt ». – He was confident, even charismatic. But he didn’t convince me. I was after reading the indictment. There were specifics. But you have to admit, he had a gift of talking.
Our journalist also managed to talk to his former childhood colleague:
– Peter had a lush imagination. We told him « Peter Fantasta ». As a kid, he was able to make up stories about millions, acquaintances with important people. And when he grew up a little, he began to believe it. And he convinced it to others ….
The luxury was just an interruption
He used to have watches worth hundreds of thousands of zlotys. Cars that the Arab prince would not be ashamed of. He said he knew crowned heads. He had diplomatic passports and snobbish dinners. But it was an episode. The rest of your life is a cell. Where perhaps right now, like an old fairy tale, tells stories to his prisoners. And nobody knows what is true in all this, and what is his legend …
