The karate association: misunderstanding behind manipulation suspicions – DN.se

The conflict in Swedish karate continues. After that DN revealed that the union’s annual meeting was reported to the National Sports Committee (RIN) Following suspicions of manipulation of the voting length in connection with the election of the chairman, the federal leadership announced that it was not intended to comment on the case until it was treated by RIN.

But this week, the Federal Board chose to still comment on the conflict. IN a sharply worded statement on its website it is claimed that there has been « pressure and unpleasant correspondence » against, among other things, board members and staff at the Federal Office.

– Out of respect for the process in Rin, we did not want to comment at first, but when it then began to flourish so much rumors and dirty and that in DN’s articles it was shown that it was a conscious manipulation, we chose to make this statement, says federal treasurer Michael Bergman, who for Dn gaves his picture of what happened when the male male malavy. A total of 357 votes.

But according to the established The voting length was only 348 votes, divided into 106 agents.

Michael Bergman claims that the correct figure registered with the digital meeting service Easymeet was 360 votes on 110 agents but that the incorrect figure was accidentally determined by the annual meeting.

When only 106 representatives then made 348 votes in a test count, and in the votes until the chair, the impression was reinforced that this was the correct figure.

At the election, 107 agents made nine votes more than those established in the voting length.

– It was confused, Bergman admits and claims that the explanation is that three of the 110 agents who were registered had logged out of the system.

– That someone would consciously have added a representative in the election of the chair is not true. The registration was closed (with 110 agents) and it is the agents themselves who log in and out of the meeting, says Bergman.

But it is not just the total number of votes that have raised suspicions. In the notification made by the losing candidate Sadik Sadik, he claims that an agent who has been authorized to cast seven votes on him had only six registered in the Easyme’s protocol – a vote that had given the election another outcome.

Michael Bergman says he has not seen the protocol in question and that he therefore does not want to comment on the matter.

The fact remains, The voting length approved by the annual meeting contained 348 votes and Sadik Sadik has demanded that the election be redone.

– All I want is for the choice to be made correctly. If then Ramon wins, it is so, but right should be right, Sadik says, denying that he would have acted inappropriately in the aftermath for the annual meeting.

How do you see that the Federal Board goes out on its website and directs criticism, including at you?

– I think it is strange that they do not do their own investigation, because they know just like everyone else who was at the meeting that the figures are not true. They should do that instead of expressing themselves in this way.

Former chairman of Urban Andersson and the Skåne District Chairman Leif Almö are also criticized by the Federal Board in the post on the website.

Last year, Sadik was a member of the Federal Board before announcing in February that he was running as chairman. In 2023, the Karate Association’s Disciplinary Board closed him because he, as a coach, appeared inappropriately in connection with an SM competition. Sadik appealed to RIN, which shortened the suspension to four months.
