The Judicial Council adopted the Annual Report on Operations in 2024
Members of the Judicial Council gave unanimous support to the annual report on the work during the mining year, after which the document will be submitted for consideration in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia.
During the review of the report, it was stated that it was quality, but it contains a number of statistics that cannot determine their truthfulness. The dilemma of the previous years is opened whether the Parliament will not negatively evaluate and submit interpellations to the council members.
-I do not want to be misunderstood, but those statistics that the Judicial Council have worked are and is evident that it has done a lot. It is ours to be proud of that work, and it is up to the other two authorities to think about whether or not to adopt it – said Vesna Dameva, a member of the Judicial Council.
It was indicated that the Council’s report summarized the data provided by the courts and that is the reality, and whether it could be better and more another absect. Much of those statistics on the work of judges are the result of the financial independence of the judiciary, and co -operation between the three authorities on certain issues in the judiciary, rather than calling for the political responsibility of members of the Judicial Council, is necessary.
At the sequel to the session, the Council reviewed the appeals of judges about the fighting and assessments of their work, with nine complaints partially established, three fully accepted and two were rejected.
The Trial Chamber stated the termination of office for the death of a judge in the Veles Basic Court, and a judge in the Basic Criminal Court – Skopje terminated his office for retirement. Six jurisdictions in the Basic Court – Kumanovo have been dismissed due to the expiration of the mandate and three new ones are elected in their place.
At the session, a decision was made to announce a call for employment of a judge at the Basic Court in Struga.
