The infrastructure of the Narva Promenade falls into decay, and the stairs leading to it require repair, although Gan’s staircase was updated just recently – only at the end of 2023.
In many places of the Narva river promenade, damage, failures in tiles, in particular, but this problem is global – affects the stairs leading to it, not only historical.
Last winter was the days when the Narva staircase Gan was absolutely impassable, covered with ice. At the same time, the historical staircase in the center of Narva is part of the first -class zone, that is, it is a place where cleaning from ice and snow should be carried out constantly in an operational manner.
Perhaps solving this problem, the stone slabs of the stairs were damaged. Many of them appeared potholes, chips.
Meanwhile, the concrete staircase connecting Gan’s staircase with the lower river promenade, built ten years ago, looks much worse. From granite tiles, rather thin, covering steps, speaking forward, there are many pieces.
Perhaps the city will be carried out by the repair of stairs, which in one case can be a warranty, and in the other everything will definitely turn out to be more difficult, and can only be produced for budget funds.
The situation for the Narva newspaper was commented by the Department of Economics and Development of Narva.
“A plot leading from the staircase of Ghana down to the promenade was built more than ten years ago as part of the project“ Construction of the Narva Coastal Promenade ”. At the same time, the project of updating the stairs of Ghan was implemented as part of a separate project. Since the warranty period for the“ promenade ”section of the stairs has already expired, possible repair work can be carried out only at the expense of the city budget. To make the relevant decision, the Department of City Economy must be carried out by a technical Analysis of the state of the site and evaluate the volume of necessary work, after which a decision can be made to plan financing, ”the department told us.
At the same time, in the council we were told that in the case of Gan’s staircase itself, restoration work was completed in December 2023, and a warranty was valid until the end of 2025.
“In the warm season, a warranty inspection will be carried out. If defects are detected, they will be eliminated by the contractor under warranty obligations, ”the department informs the department.
