The income of Russian trains working from? Beyond the borders increased by 14%
The income of IT specialists working from abroad for Russian companies increased in a year to 26%. Most of these experts are in the countries of the near abroad, and use their services in technological and creative areas. Experts associate the growth of salaries in trains with compensation for the increase in personal income tax for non -residents of the Russian Federation and the total growth of income in IT. At the same time, they admit that, despite this, it is even more profitable for many companies to hire a remote specialist than to issue an employee in the state.
The salaries of specialists-trainers cooperating with Russian companies increased as a whole by 14% per year, and specialists from technological (IT) and creative segments became the most popular. This follows from the data of the company SOLAR STAFF, where more than 2 thousand freelance performers who are outside Russia studied the income. The largest increase in average monthly income was recorded by programmers-an increase of 15% (from 162.3 thousand to 186.5 thousand rubles) and web developers-by 26% (from 223 thousand to 280.3 thousand rubles). Most experts work for Russian business from neighboring countries: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and to a lesser extent Serbia, Solar Staff notes. The share of freelancers is growing in technological and creative segments (IT, advertising, EdTech, etc.), while in industry, medicine, transport and construction they prefer to hire specialists in Russia.
Kommersant’s dynamics are confirmed in “Khabr. Carrier”: the income of IT specialists in Russia increased in 58%, among reserves, growth was observed in 45% of employees. “At the same time, about 25% of those who are not in Russia fell in income, and only 12% of those in Russia,” the company noted.
Other Kommersant recruiting companies say that they also observe the growth of salaries in general on the IT segment of the Russian market. “The results of our survey suggest that distance workers from abroad earn at the level of colleagues working in Russia. Salaries above lead to an increased load on the photo, so employers are ready to pay them only units, ”said Natalya Golovanova, head of the Superjob research center. So, according to Superjob for 2025, only in Moscow the average salary of the C# programmer (programming language) is 300 thousand rubles, the JavaScript programmer – 280 thousand. The maximum growth in this segment showed the position of the director of IT, reaching an average mark of 700 thousand rubles. (+17%).
The head of the creative agency of special projects Kidsproject Hybrid Ecosystem Lyubov Blokhina confirms the growth of specialists on freelance: “If the company wants to get a top specialist, she has to offer a reward capable of competing with world bets. Payment to the freelancer goes for the result, this format of interaction allows you to maintain the budget of the company. ”
If we talk about the IT and IB sphere, then there really is the growth of salaries of domestic freelancers working abroad, Anna Titova agrees with the HR business partner of Servicepipe. Demand for technical specialists of the Senior level significantly exceeds the proposal. The benefits of attracting freelancers are obvious-the opportunity to hire the best personnel when minimizing the costs of the office and taxes, as freelancers work under civil law contracts, she recalls.
According to Solar Staff, the vast majority of performers work in the status of individuals. This may be due to the fact that many of them are citizens of the Russian Federation who are temporarily not residents of the country, and the status of a self-employed one is not suitable for them due to the current income limit of 2.4 million rubles. per year, analysts explain. More than 20% of specialists abroad continue to withdraw income to Russian bank cards.
15% income growth can also be associated with inflation and compensation for the increase in personal income tax for non -residents, the founder of the “School of Career Management” Aigyun Kurbanova notes. From January 1, 2025, new tax rates have been valid in relation to the income of non-resident employees depending on the amount of income (Article 224 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation). In addition, according to Aigyun Kurbanova, taking into account the growth of programmers’ salaries in Russia, the increase in payments to freelance specialists still remains a more profitable decision for companies than the employee’s hiring in the state.
