The Hungarian minister. EU policy towards Ukraine, a « sustainable ruin » way
Most of the states of the European Union have decided to follow a path that will lead to the 'sustainable ruin' of the economy and security of the Community block, said Hungarian Minister Peter Szijjarto after the Foreign Affairs Council, who brought together the Foreign Ministers of the Member Countries on Monday, reports the MTI press agency.
According to Szijjarto, this meeting was again a 'extremely pro-war and pro-Ukraine' and many 'blindly advocated for the continuation of the war and the immediate accession of Ukraine' to the EU.
The Hungarian minister qualified as a 'scandalous' the proposal made by the head of European diplomacy, Estona Kaja Kallas, for EU states to offer Ukraine this year military aid of at least 20 billion euros and to reach up to 40 billion euros, a plan in which, according to this proposal, each EU Member State should contribute financially to the' economic Next to clarify.
The government led by Viktor Orban will not participate in such an initiative, 'as Hungary has a clear interest in a peace that is closer than ever, « indicated the Hungarian Foreign Minister, talking to a press conference after the European Ministerial Meeting.
He also said that Hungary will do everything in its power to support the discussions initiated by the US and Russia for a negotiated solution of the Russian-Ukrainian war. But 'Brussels and most of the Member States (of the EU) oppose this position' and have decided in favor of a direction 'that will bring the sustainable ruin of the continent's economy and security,' Szijjarto noted. The Hungarian minister also accused an intention to integrate Ukraine into the EU without fulfilling the conditions required for countries in the Western Balkans'.
Hungary will not support any initiative that would extend the war in Ukraine, the Hungarian Foreign Minister reaffirmed. « If we look at today's geopolitical arena, we will see that Brussels begins to be completely isolated, as the rest of the world really wants peace now, while Brussels has an extremely pro-war position, » he concluded.
