Bojnice. The management of the Bojnice hospital has had part of the negotiations on the amount of payments for performance with health insurance companies. He expects one new contract from one, with two of the final agreement.
Individual negotiations with insurance companies were approached by the director of the hospital Peter Glatz after he decided in March to withdraw from the Association of Hospitals of Slovakia.
The reason was dissatisfaction with the system of distributing money from health insurance companies among individual members of the Association.
Union expects a contract draft
The hospital with the smallest union insurance company is directed to the agreement. The management expects the proposal of a new contract with the declared increase in payments and advances.

The hospital signed with the General Health Insurance Company an amendment to the contract valid until the end of June.
« At first, they did not give us any advance payments for this year, nor did the payments almost raise us at all. However, on the last evening of the original contract after repeated calls for resolving the situation, the insurance company decided to proceed to adjust the amendment, and the hospital will also pay advances.
This is a temporary solution, the hospital wants to discuss the conditions for the next period.
The insurance company declared an effort to negotiate the best possible conditions for patients. « We are always looking for the best possible solution for our policyholders to have the best possible and affordable health care, » said the spokeswoman of the state insurance company Danka Capáková.
Points to a disproportion in payments
According to Glatz, the Bojnice hospital is the second largest facility from the second category hospitals, which provides health care for patients of the General Health Insurance Company and is also the fourth worst paid.
The hospital has not yet been able to find the intersection in the requirements and expectations.
« The hospital has submitted several versions of the offer to adjust the contractual and price conditions for 2025, including the offer for full payment through the DRG classification system. Currently we are with the hospital in negotiations, the current contract is agreed for an indefinite period, » said PR specialist Matej Štepiansky.
He added that the next meeting will take place in the first half of May.
« Some insurance companies seem to be not among the top of two hospitals in terms of the amount and difficulty of production. In two of them, we are among the ten percent of the worst paid, » said Peter Glatz, saying that the position of the Bojnice hospital is unique because approximately 200,000 patients have no other adequate health care.
