The hit of the CEAZ chairman in Kashar, the Tirana court leaves Rei Nozllin in prison

At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Tirana General Jurisdiction Court, citizen Rei Nozlli was left in the security measure ‘arrest in prison’ for the offense of ‘intimidation or rape against election participants’ provided by Article 329/3 of the Criminal Code.

On 15.05.2025, at the CEAZ No. 30, Kashar, the process of counting votes for candidates for deputies who competed in the general elections dated 11.05.2025. Around 2pm ‘, during the counting process, the relevant numerator declared an invalid a vote and at that moment the RN citizen and some other persons with him reacted by screaming, expressing disdain with this decision of the count.

These persons stayed in the voting counting facilities and followed the process, without the status of observer of any political entity. After identifying this response, the RM whistleblower, in the capacity of Secretary of the CEAZ No. 30 and in the exercise of his functional duty, asked them to calm them down, as they would gather the commission and evaluate the contested vote, but the group of persons did not stop and continued with offensive words. In this situation, the whistleblower asked them to calm down, otherwise he would get them out of the vote counting environment. Immediately afterwards, citizen RN crossed the security perimeter bar and went to him, hitting him with punches and kicks. After him other people went, but the nearby counters intervened, trying to keep them physically.

At the conclusion of the preliminary actions carried out, the RN citizen was arrested suspected of being the perpetrator of the offense of ‘intimidation or rape against participants in the election’ provided by Article 329/3 of the Criminal Code.
