At the same time, she pointed out that unfortunately the horrors of war are on Europe again. « We see how easy it was to repeat what seemed clearly condemned. We again see the children forced to leave their homes. We see divorced families, devastated fates.

What is happening in Ukraine is not far from us geographically or humane. This is a reminder and warning – history should not be forgotten, « the prime minister emphasized.

Siliņa also presented a special Prime Minister’s prize for ten -year -old Gustav Michael Sisenis from Liepaja’s friendly invitation to the Secondary School for the « Pain Road! ».

84 years ago, on June 14, 1941, there were deportations in Latvia, where 15,425 Latvian residents, including Latvians, Jews, Russians, Poles, including 3,751 children under the age of 16.

Today at the Latvian Society House there was an annual conference-the « brought out ». This year, children and those born in Siberia will gather in 1941 and 1949.
