‘The headscarf crisis’ statement from the Ministry of National Education: The news was distorted – Cyprus Newspaper
Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Education made a statement about the news about the fact that a student wearing a headscarf was not taken to the school at İrsen Küçük Middle School and the presence of ministry officials at the school.
Undersecretary said in a statement:
“In some press widespread organs and trade union statements, we have followed with great sorrow that the situation in Irsen Small Secondary School is perfect.
The officials of the Ministry of National Education were assigned to the school in the morning to observe the situation on site. It was found that it was not taken to school because it came with the chief of the student. The ministry officials at the school requested the child to be admitted to the school, but was rejected by KTOEÖS board members and some teachers. Thereupon, the ministry officials chatted with the school principal and consulted the situation.
Then, the union officials entered a group of teachers and the press in the school principal’s room raided by shouting. The union members tried to remove the ministry officials unauthorized.
Upon this, the school principal was fenalaş during the tension between the ministry officials and the union officials. Therefore, we respectfully announce to the public that some media officials do not act and/or intervene in any way that the statement made by the media and the union is completely unfounded.
