‘It would be illegal if I didn’t raise my salary’

Orlic then referred to an increase in the salary that echoed the Earth because at the first session of the City Council he had a good increase in receipts.

– The City Council has made a decision to align the coefficient with the Law on Salary in Regional and Local, Regional Self -Government. We aligned the basis with a government decision from July last year. If we were going to the salary showdown according to the valid documents, that would be illegal – said Orlic, who now receives about 4,700 euros net, more than the mayor of the four largest Croatian cities.

– With the pay, when it is calculated on a new base, that is, the base was adopted in July and by this new coefficient, it is still lower than the salaries that the former mayor had while performing the post of mayor and parliamentary MP – added Orlic.

Pursued a parliamentary salary of predecessor, not a city

At the remark that this decision was a bad message to citizens because he recently stated that the City of Sisak was in a very poor financial situation and that he would not have salaries to pay his employees, so he canceled the Bajaga Day concert for the City Day, Orlić reached the former government again.

– I think the bad message is that the former city government is rarely held when the law, not only with the calculation of the salary, but also with other activities. I think it should have been aligned at the time when all the cities in the Republic of Croatia and all counties did, so in July and August for last year – said Orlic, adding that he did not know if there was a higher salary than the mayor of Zagreb or Osijek.

– I don’t think I do, I don’t know, I don’t believe, ”Orlic said, adding that he joined the HDZ two years ago and that he recommends it to everyone.

Otherwise, the mayor of Zagreb has a salary of 4222 euros net and Osijek 4266.
