The Great Reset: This is the detailed plan to dismantle the EU that excites Vox | Spain
Option A: dismantling the European Union. Option B: Close and open a mini version. Anyway, say goodbye to the current EU. The two « scenarios » are described in The Great Reset – That is, « the great reset » or, in language of the digital era, « the great reset » -, a document of the laboratories of ideas Ordo Iuris, of Poland, and Mathias Corvinus, of Hungary, backed by Vox and other games of his rope. Usually installed in a vague rhetoric against the “Brussels bureaucrats”, support for the report is a drastic advance in concretion on the European plans of the European plans of the Third Party of Spain. The Great Resetthat the two Think Tanks They are promoting as a road map of the ultra -right at European scale, it is far from being a nationalist peroorata or a vague declaration of intentions. It is a plan, orderly and detailed, to reduce the current EU to ashes.
Among the effects of Brexit there is an unexpected one. « The EXITERS (supporters of leaving the EU) have practically disappeared, « explains Anna López, doctor of political science and author of the essay The extreme right in Europe (Tirant, 2025). The ultras, analyzes López, have internalized the advantages of being in the EU for two reasons: one, economic, because it guarantees “resources, visibility and financing”; Another, electoral, because « disputing the idea of Europe political and symbolically » is preferable to giving the battle for its departure. So the parties of this family, adds the researcher, have chosen to park the exit and replace them with the appeal to the nostalgia of a “idealized” Europe that would have been “strong, prosperous and Christian” and that has been annoyed – they continue – by the onslaught of a bureaucracy taken by progressivism and a Muslim immigration out of control.
As the speech works, details are rarely added. In politics, details can scare who agrees with the general idea. The Great Reset It is an exception to inconcretion. Who are the ones who have decided to rise to move from the big proclamations to the small print? They are two Central European organizations. The Polish is Ordo Iuris, promoter in the shadow of the « normative architecture » of the previous government, that of the Ultranationalist of Law and Justiceincluding the « intellectual authorship » of your restrictive abortion lawthe « Criminalization of sex education » and the « free zones of LGTBI ideology, » explains anthropologist Nuria Alabao, author of Gender wars (Katakrak, 2025), which describes the ideology of this group as a mixture of making you hear and Christian lawyers.
Registered as lobby Before the EU institutions, Ordo Iuris maintains contact with extremist matches both in Poland – where he also works with Confederation, even more to the right – and in France, Italy and other EU countries. Explicit is his interest in Spain, where he has activity and contact with Vox at least since 2022. Ordo Iuris was also one of the sponsors of the Anti -abortion summit held in the Senate last December under the organization of the Securities Political Network, International Group but with strong Spanish roots, especially in the Figure of Jaime Mayor Oreja.
The Mathias Corvinus Collegium is, explains Anna López, a factory of « political and intellectual elite related to illiberal nationalism » born to nurture the Viktor Orbán regime. It is a model that in Spain Vox wants to imitate with its support to ISSEP Ideas Training and Dissemination Center. Like Ordo Iuris, the MCC is interested in Spain, where it has collaborated with the CEU, the educational arm of the Catholic Association of Propagandists. The director of the MCC European Studies Center is the Spanish Rodrigo Ballester, former community official, one of the authors of The Great Reset. The president of the MCC is Balázs Orbán, chief of cabinet of the Hungarian Prime Minister.
Dismantle or refound
Both entities, Ordo Iuris and the MCC, exemplify the effort of the European ultra -right of “consolidating a transnational cultural, educational and strategic project,” says Anna López. In this will we have to frame its report on the EU, which starts from the premise that the community project has amortized its initial claim to be a mere « free trade » and « peaceful coexistence » to become a bureaucratized monster that castrates national sovereigns and imposes a progressive creed.
Ordo Iuris and the MCC offer two alternatives. The most detailed is presented under the name of « Back the roots » and the EU would approach, so the report explicitly – to its 1957 embryonic model, when Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands sign the Treaty of Rome, origin of the European Economic Community. The first change to « return to the roots » would be to make European institutions. The commission would be transformed into a « general secretariat » under strict control of states. It is an idea that agrees with the one that makes more than a five years already presented national regrouping, Marine Le Pen’s party: reduce it to an « administrative secretariat without decision function. » It would be goodbye to the pressure capacity that the Commission has had before what has considered authoritarian drifts of the Poland of Law and Justice and the Hungary of Fidesz.
The Eurocamara would be transformed into a mixed assembly, composed of deputies out of European elections and others sent by the nations, and of « consultative » competences. The functions of the EU Court of Justice (TJUE) would be restricted to the « dispute resolution », leaving the interpretation of treaties or the correction of national judicial decisions.
All the design is consistent with an omnipresent idea: that nothing sinks national governments, on which all power would fall. As « spokesman » of governments, the European Council would be the « highest authority » and could even promote new legislation to revoke TJUE sentences.
The second change for the « return to the roots » would end the current integration model, replaced by one « to the letter » in which each state would decide in which areas it is inside and what it was. For example, immigration and renewable, no; Free traffic of workers, yes. Each State could « exempt from conflict policies with their priorities. » What is inferred from this? If a government is prohibitionist of abortion and wants to eradicate the “LGTBI” influence of the classrooms, nothing could oppose the EU. The report even indicates four untouchable areas: « Family, public order, moral order and education. » Above all, the EU should not have “direct or indirect impact”, collects the document.
Just when in the EU it is discussed how to expedite decision making to compete in the vertiginous world, the option to the report defends “reinforce and expand” the “unanimity” rule. That is the third change: less qualified majorities and more need for everyone to go to take any step. The fourth and final reform to « return to the roots » is to change the name of the EU to « European Community of Nations. »
All of the above concerns the first option collected in the document. The second, Plan B, is more « radical, » according to the report. It is what its authors call « a new beginning », which would consist of the « EU dissolution » and the reopening of a new organization that exceeds the « interventionist paradigm and regulator of the mid -twentieth century. » Each state would decide when, how and how far of their participation in each cooperation project. It would be necessary to « negotiate the detailed structure of the new union » and a « transition plan », collects the document.
Vox support
The text was presented in Madrid on May 22, in an act promoted by Ordo Iuris, the MCC, Vox –Through its foundation, dissent– and the fundamental rights center, linked to the Fidesz de Orbán. On the part of Vox, his head of the European delegation, Jorge Buxadé, who published this message: « We know where to go. » « Now we have a project, » said the party leader. The country asked Vox if his support is at the first option or the second, without an answer. In statements released by the Center for Fundamental Rights, Buxadé shows his enthusiasm: « We are in a position to face a legislature that is the beginning of the great restart. »
Vox support is not the first to collect Ordo Iuris and the MCC. The report has the support of Fidesz in Hungary and of law and justice figures and confederation in Poland. Its promoters prepare, through the Patriots Group for Europe – the third in the Eurocamara and to which Vox belongs -, a long start in Paris with the presence of national regrouping and are “in conversations” with entities “from all
The report has the impulse of the Heritage Foundationof powerful influence on the Trumpism and promoter of the Project 2025a conservative subversion plan of the administration that raises misgivings even in what may be moderate in the Republican Party. The idea of The Great Reset He was born at a conference organized by this Think Tank American and Ordo Iuris in Warsaw in September 2024 to study how Europe could be in the world that dreams of the Nationalist international. That idea of future Europe is taking shape.
