BRATISLAVA. Damages caused Slintecka and a wing will reach several tens of millions of euros, said the Minister of Agriculture for Direction Richard Takáč MEPs from the Agricultural Committee.
The disease in Slovakia has so far been confirmed in four farms in the district of Dunajská Streda. In the first farm in the village of Baka by Thursday they killed more than 1300 cattle. They also destroyed pigs, sheep or goats within three kilometers from the infected farm.
Breeders from Baka will also be the first to be compensated by the government. On Thursday evening, according to Takáč, the ministry’s staff should help the breeders fill in the questionnaire. They then receive compensation in the market value of the animal.
They should improve communication
On Thursday afternoon, mayors of three municipalities, which hit the infection first – Baky, Medveďova and Ňárada -, did not know about the meeting with the ministry’s staff or the forms for compensation.
« In the evening, there will be a joint meeting of people from the three villages to whom these animals were killed at the municipal office, » Takac said. He said before the briefing that he would compensate at the Municipal Office in Bake.
