The Government has accepted the proposed concept of organization of a resource center for municipal support

The Government today accepted the proposed concept of organization of a Resource Center for Support of Municipalities, which should provide serious support for strengthening the capacities at the local level. That, the Government emphasized, will lead to encouraging more efficient local development, and in parallel with this will ensure improved cooperation between local and central government.

-The first component that covers this concept is the Fund for Technical Documentation (FTD) -this financial instrument/grant scheme for financing municipalities and centers for development of planning regions, for the development of comprehensive technical documentation for infrastructure development projects is already under construction project The Ministry of Local Self-Government, UNDP and the Swedish Development Agency- Sida- said in a statement today after the Government session.

The second component is the support and development of the capacity of the municipal administration, and this component, according to the Government, would be implemented through training, expert assistance, exchange of experiences and support for inter -municipal cooperation.

The third component, explained by the Government, is the view of opportunities for financing a project establishment-platform with all the opportunities for project funding, monitoring and integrating all advertisements for allocation of budget funds to municipalities, as well as open calls for withdrawal of donor funds.
