The government discussed preparations for the anniversary of Vladimir Zhirinovsky

On April 24, a working meeting was held in the Government of the Russian Federation under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, the theme of which was preparations for the celebration of the anniversary of the deceased founder of the LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky (on April 25, 2026 he would be 80 years old). The event was attended by the current leader of the LDPR Leonid Slutsky, the leadership of the central apparatus of the party, members of the Organizing Committee for the preparation of the celebration of the anniversary of the politician – representatives of the ministries of culture, transport, education, science and education, digital development, foreign affairs.

Recall that the decree on the holding of events dedicated to the celebration of the anniversary of Vladimir Zhirinovsky, President Vladimir Putin signed in November last year. The organizing committee for the preparation of commemorative celebrations was headed by the State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, and Leonid Slutsky became his deputy. The first meeting of the organizing committee took place in December 2024 on the fields of the anniversary exhibition at the VDNH « LDPR: 35 years with the people. » At the second meeting of the Organizing Committee, which will be held on May 14 under the leadership of Mr. Volodin, as expected, a plan of specific events will be approved, including a memorable concert in the Bolshoi Theater, Russian Ball in the Central Exhibition Hall « Manege » with the participation of cadets, a performance in memory of the founder of the LDPR with a tour of the country, the establishment of new grants for students of political scientists, etc. After that, as Mr. Slutsky said, the event plan will be transferred to the president.

The 79th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Zhirinovsky LDPR will celebrate on Friday, April 25, a solemn rally-concert, which will also be launched by the 2026 party election campaign.
