The total guarantees is up to 5,000 million euros, but for the moment this Tuesday the Council of Ministers has approved 1,000 through an agreement, this is something that does not need a parliamentary vote, unlike the decree with the bulk of the measures approved last week. That text was also negotiated with the PP, although Alberto Núñez Feijóo does not want to clarify if his party will vote in favor of validation and reproach that the Executive did not attend to some of his proposals.

The truth is that at the moment these 1,000 million euros have been addressed with the PP and other groups, which gives an account of a new political environment and a significant change in the relationship between the two great parties on account of a very sensitive matter, the response to Trump’s tariffs, in which the PP wants to distance yourself from Vox. The Moncloa claims to the PP that goes further and definitely breaks with the Santiago Abascal party, but Feijóo believes that it is compatible to move away from Vox in this matter but at the same time continue to negotiate with them several autonomic budgets in addition to that of the Valencian Community, which have already agreed.

Of this first section of 1,000 million euros, about 750 million will be used to guarantee the liquidity of companies and another 250 million to endorse new investment projects. The ICO will manage these guarantees, which can cover up to 80% of the loan, and there will be a single very clear condition to access them: that companies are really affected by Trump tariffs. To do this, its volume of exports and imports to the US will have to exceed 5% of the company’s billing volume. They can also access companies that are not directly exporters but suppliers of others that are, something frequent in the automobile world, for example.

We have to go on to talk about the plan, we must not generate more debt. And not all companies will ask for loans, » they say.
