The government clubs criticized the merger of art authorities
As of January 1, the Modern Museum will take over the information that previously belonged to the State Arts Council and Arkdes, when the two authorities will be discontinued. This is clear after a government meeting on Wednesday.
The idea of the merger should be to increase the efficiency of the state administration. The proposal has since presented sharp criticism from both the cultural sector, including the authorities concerned, and the political opposition. Among other things, the investigation is accused of the decision to be weakly substantiated and contain factual errors, and for not having taken care of the knowledge of the referral bodies.
DN has sought Minister of Culture Parisa Liljestrand (M) for an interview. In a written comment, she writes in a comment on DN that the change will benefit « Citizens’ meeting with art and culture ».
« Both at the museum at Skeppsholmen in Stockholm and around the country. In the continued work, the government will take into account both the investigation’s proposals and the views of the referral bodies. »
