The goal is to emphasize the importance of international scientific cooperation, said Siljanovska-Davkova
President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova is paying a working visit to Nice, France, where she will participate in the third United Nations Conference on Ocean (Unoc3).
« It was a satisfaction in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron to be part of the opening ceremony of the Decade on Cryosfer Sciences studying glaciers and all areas where water is in a hard condition, as well as attending the presentation of the recommendations of the special events of the third conference.
The goal, as she pointed out, is to emphasize the importance of international scientific cooperation, as well as to encourage efforts for sustainable development in response to the alarming impact of climate change on glaciers, ice plates and eternal ice, ie the negative effects that are caused.
« I am a dad that I could briefly talk to President Macron, who hosts the conference, » Siljanovska-Davkova wrote in his post on his Facebook profile.
The president, as her cabinet said earlier, will address the third United Nations Ocean Conference (Unoc3) to support the implementation of the target 14 for: preserving and sustainable use of oceans, seas and sea resources for sustainable development.
At a special ceremony, Siljanovska-Davkova will sign the Treaty within the UN Convention on the right to the sea to preserve and sustainable use of sea biodiversity of areas outside the National Jurisdiction (BBNJ), adopted in New York on June 19, 2023.
