Dr. Tomasz Solecki was attacked by his patient Jarosław W. (35 years old) while giving advice. The perpetrator invaded the office doctor at the University Hospital in Krakow. He didn’t care that she was a patient. In the eyes of a terrified woman, he dealt a dozen or so blows to the doctor around the chest and abdomen. The wounds turned out to be fatal. Dr. Solecki died on the operating table. The attacker turned out to be an officer of the prison service.
Jarosław W. (35 years old) recently worked in a detention center in Katowice. He does not admit the allegation of murder and refuses to explain. According to the parents of Jarosław W.’s parents, who talked to the media, it appears that two years ago after the unfortunate fall, their son had an elbow surgery. It was conducted by Dr. Solecki. However, Jarosław W. was dissatisfied with the procedure. He was convinced that he fell victim to a medical error. His complaints were dismissed by the Ombudsman for the Patient Rights and the Medical Chamber in Krakow.

According to his parents, the man was obsessed with a doctor. She has grown for two years. In interviews given to the media, Jarosław W.’s relatives told that their son suspected that the medic had implanted his virus. Another time he was supposed to say that the doctor infected him with leukemia. Jarosław W.’s parents insisted that he report to a psychiatrist, but the son refused.
The employer also had doubts as to the mental health of the officer. Although on April 9 he underwent successful examinations in the field of occupational medicine, the director of the Remand Center in Katowice directed Jarosław W. for re -examination. He was to do them after returning from vacation at the beginning of May. Unfortunately, on April 29 he attacked a doctor.

In Warsaw, there will be a march of silence of medics organized by the Supreme Medical Chamber, the National Trade Union of Doctors and other organizations associating representatives of medical professions. According to the Supreme Medical Chamber, « the march will be an expression of solidarity, mourning and an appeal for respect and security for all medical professions ».
At the same time, doctors are collecting money for a family of tragically deceased Medic. It is run by the doctors foundation. « Your donation will help Tomek’s children and family to survive this drama and feel a bit that they are not alone » – we read in the appeal under the collection.
