The former traffic police inspector Moscow want to select five apartments in the UAE
Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov asked the competent bodies of the UAE to remove five apartments in Dubai in favor of the Russian Federation. All of them belong to the former traffic police inspector Sergei Kuznetsov, who is serving a deadline for receiving a large bribe. The cost of foreign real estate of the ex-police is estimated at 3 million dirhams (67.2 million rubles).
Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov on April 15 in Abu Dhabi met with the President of the Accounting Office of the UAE Humide Narid Abushibs. They signed a memorandum of the exchange of experience and advanced practices, as well as organizing joint events. At the same time, Mr. Krasnov asked Mr. Abushibs to take control of the request for the seizure of assets, which the Russian supervisory authority sent at the beginning of 2025.
It refers to the real estate of Sergey Kuznetsov, a former traffic police inspector of the traffic police in the North-East District of Moscow. He served in the internal affairs bodies since 2002, and in September 2021 he was detained at the request of a motorist who had extinct a bribe (part 5 of article 290 of the Criminal Code) in 900 thousand rubles. The presence of an extensive real estate list at the senior lieutenant Kuznetsov was revealed already during the investigation.
It turned out that from 2013 to 2020, the policeman acquired 29 real estate, the legality of origin 23 of them raised questions. Especially seven foreign ones.
So it turned out that he owned apartments in 80 square meters. m in Princess Tower, considered one of Dubai’s highest skyscrapers (101 floor 414 m high). In 2015, when a deal was completed, the cost of housing was estimated at 1.2 million dirhams, or 17.2 million rubles.
In 2016, the law enforcement officer bought an apartment and a 45 square meter in Frankfurt Tower and the Jabal All First. m and 51 sq. m. For them, he laid out 480 thousand and 525 thousand dirhams, respectively (8.1 million and 9.2 million rubles). A year later, the inspector acquired a studio of 46.92 square meters. m for 500 thousand dirhams (7.9 million rubles) in the Tuscan residence, as well as an apartment of 37.78 square meters. m in the Royal residence, which cost 490 thousand dirhams (7.6 million rubles). Two more apartments at the policeman were in Bulgaria.
The cost of all real estate objects was estimated at 130 million rubles. At the same time, the official income of Mr. Kuznetsov and his family members did not allow such purchases: from 2009 to 2021, they earned a total of 16.4 million rubles.
In addition, in the cells opened in the name of inspector Kuznetsov, there were another 48 million rubles, $ 60 thousand and € 23 thousand, whose legality he also did not prove.
In 2022, the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office for the seizure of real estate Mr. Kuznetsov in state revenue. In turn, the inspector did not immediately consider the criminal case: the Grandmother’s District Court of Moscow returned him to an additional investigation. As a result, the court sentenced Sergei Kuznetsov to 5.5 years in prison, depriving the rank of senior police lieutenant. At the same time, it was not possible to establish where the inspector got the money for the acquisition of all real estate.
Note, this is not the first time that Russian police laundered funds in Dubai. So, for example, accused in absentia of receiving bribes totaling 5 billion rubles. From the administrator of the cryptocurrency exchange, ex-employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Dmitry Sokolov, escaping to Dubai, bought, according to the investigation, apartments in the highest building of the world-the Burdzh Khalifa skyscraper.
