The former head of the prosecutor’s office, charges against Maia Sandu
The former head of the Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office of Moldova, Veronica Dragalin, accuses that President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean would have asked for a list of prosecutors who should promote Veting, and a member of the SCM would have encouraged her to initiate a criminal case, according to a letter.
The letter was sent on April 5 to the magistrate Mariana Ursachi (dwarf), who came to the attention of public opinion in the Republic of Moldova after indicating in a declaration of wealth a Porsche Cayenne which he valued at only 11,000 Moldovan lei, ie about 570 euros.
« I consider this information to you, which could be useful from my point of view in the defense of your career as fundamental and constitutional rights. Between July 2022-July 2023, the Pre-Veting Commission issued decisions on the candidacy of several persons, candidates for the position of membership in the SCM or the Superior Council of Prosecutors (according to the CSP). It was made public by the judge’s lawyer, Cristina Ciubotaru, during the meeting of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) on April 8, requesting the recusal of the SCM, Ion Guzun, in a case regarding its client.
