The foreign exchange sector has been united! General Assembly was held – Cyprus Newspaper


In order to direct the sector by gathering foreign exchange offices under one roof in Northern Cyprus Turkish Cypriot Turkish exchange offices Association officially founded. Regarding the establishment of the association The Ordinary General Assembly Meeting was held on Friday, February 28th.

Halim Kahveciler was elected president

In the General Assembly, management and supervision bodies were determined in accordance with the regulation of the association. As a result of the elections Halim Kahveciler, unanimously elected president of the Union.

Board Members:

  • Halim Kahveciler – Chairman of the Board of Directors
  • Çağla Pehlivanoğlu – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors
  • Tahsin Gul – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors
  • Osman Tat – Reserve Member

Members of the Supervisory Board:

  • Honorary Leblebicioglu – Chairman of the Supervisory Board
  • Mehmet ULUN – Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board
  • Eren Alav – Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board
  • Arda Trader – Reserve Member

It will contribute to the development of the sector

It was stated that the Association was established to strengthen the cooperation between the foreign exchange offices, to act jointly in the regulatory framework and to contribute to the development of the sector. New management, member exchange offices to develop policies that will protect their common interests targeted.

Participating in Türkiye as a special guest TÜYEMDER (All Authorized Institutions and Exchange Offices Association) President Mehti Şerensharing his experiences and conveyed his views on the developments in the sector.

The priority targets of the union

At the meeting, the aim and priorities of the association were shared with the participants:

  • To contribute to the completion of the missing legislation on the foreign exchange sector,
  • Studies to direct competition fairly and regularly,
  • Strengthening information sharing and communication with stakeholders,
  • Developing the infrastructure that will form sector standards,
  • Increase the prestige of the sector and strengthen solidarity.

Moreover 2025 activities Within the scope, evaluations were made on the national and international development of the sector.
