The football season in Bulgaria has consolidated the depreciation of the top team from Sofia
The regular season in the First Professional League is over, and the difference between Ludogorets and the Second Levski leader is so big that hardly the most swollen optimists among the supporters of the « blue » believe that a series of championship titles will be stopped. The Eagles confidently go to the 14th consecutive winning of the Bulgarian Championship, which seems inevitable in view of the 14 points of advance they have before Levski.
The establishment of Ludogorets as an indispensable factor in the First League, for the next year, also emphasizes the fact that the teams from Sofia have completely lost their reputation to the biggest scarecrows in professional football. The last champion from the capital was in the 2008/09 season, and then the gold medals were for Levski. Two Litex triumphs followed, followed by Ludogorets to the top and has no intention of giving it.
And the years when this club, which had the best indicators from the capital’s derbies, became a champion, look like a black and white memory. In the various decades of the creation of the « A » group in a championship format, always at least several times the strongest team of clashes between Sofia elite teams has managed to grab the title. A walk through the history of the championship actually shows that this has happened 36 times – as the Cup has traveled to either Levski or CSKA.

And the troika is complemented by another team from Sofia – Lokomotiv, which has collected a total of 57 points. In that season, the fourth Sofia team in the elite was Slavia. Specifically in the capital’s derbies, CSKA takes 14 points from four wins and two draws, failing to beat Levski once (1: 1) and Lokomotiv (Sofia), with which he ends 0-0 in Nadezhda.

Season 1968/69 is certainly one of the strangest in the history of Bulgarian football in terms of Sofia’s teams. After all, they are seven for statistics. But only CSKA and Levski play all circles from the first to the thirtieth. In the first half -season company in their elite, they also make Slavia, Lokomotiv and Spartak. During the winter pause, a hybrid was created between « Slavia » and « Lokomotiv », united under the name « ZhK-Slavs » and existed only two and a half years. Spartacus was annexed to Levski, and in place of Spartaclia in the elite, an Academic (Sofia) was brought in in the elite. CSKA is again the strongest in the capital’s derbies, as well as in the « A » group, being a champion with 47 points, 7 more than Levski.

However, the participation of DSA was terminated after 13 games played, the results of which were also canceled. This leaves « Levski », CSKA, « Slavia », « Lokomotiv », « Spartak », « Stroitel » and the Air Force as the magnificent elite seventh of Bulgarian football. The Blue are champions at the end of the season, and lead in the mini ranking in the metropolitan rivalries with eight wins, two draws and two losses and a goal difference of 17:14.
