The food industry increases salaries to employees

The growth of production and the shortage of personnel stimulate the food industry to increase salaries. Over the year, the average wage in the industry increased by 29%. But the trend may change. Due to limited profitability, the business has exhausted the possibilities for increase and increasingly relies on intangible motivation.

The size of the average salary supply in the food industry in the first quarter amounted to 65.3 thousand rubles. per month, adding 29% of the year to the year, calculated in Avito work. Dmitry Vostrikov, Executive Director of Rusprodsoyuz, says that the wage fund (FOT) in the industry for a year has grown by 10-40%. The head of the Institute for the Development of Entrepreneurship and Economics, Arthur Gafarov, notes that in 2024 the nominal salary in the food production sector added 27%, and 59%.

In the Econiva Group of Companies, FOT for employees of the finished dairy product production unit for the year increased by 20%. In Health & Nutrition, the average wage added 16%for the past year. The head of the Lazarevskoye agricultural holding Kristina Romanovskaya says that over five years, the average salary in the company has almost doubled, up to 74 thousand rubles. Avito work analysts add that the proposed income for packagers has increased most of all in a year – by 47% (up to 88 thousand rubles per month) and butcher – by 41% (up to 68.6 thousand rubles). But the rates vary, and the salary of the technologist already exceeds 400 thousand rubles, says Tatyana Dolyakova, general director of Propersonnel.

In “Avito Work”, the increase in salaries in the food industry is associated with the growing need for personnel due to the development of the industry. Analysts calculated that the demand, for example, for veins of meat and veterinarians over the year, increased more than doubled, 74%on facultists.

According to Rosstat, the production of food products for 2024 added 3.5%. Dmitry Vostrikov considers the personnel deficiency and competing business for personnel.

The representative of Econiva notes that business requires more and more specialists from related fields, including IT and data analytics, and it also competes for them with other industries. The President of the Association of « All -Lesoptiki » Alla Andreeva says that the need for personnel who is engaged in the creation of products, preparing it for shipment and delivery to customers, is especially acute.

Health & Nutrition Vice President Elena Kobe adds that labor is migrated: people become couriers or warehous workers. In these positions, according to her estimates, they can earn 30–40% more. Kristina Romanovskaya notes that the rewinding of personnel for business is sensitive, although often employees subsequently return to stable production. The Cherkizovo group insists that the problem with personnel in the food industry is sharper than in other industries. Work requires specific knowledge and rarely seems attractive youth.

Oksana LutMinister of Agriculture, November 5, 2024, in an interview with the newspaper Vedomosti:

“We have one of the highest growth rate of salaries in the economy, and this also has an impact on pricing.”

Arthur Gafarov says that during the polls many companies note that raising salaries as a tool for attracting employees has almost exhausted itself. “Two or three years ago, an increase in salary by 10% made it possible to close the need for employees by 50%, now-by 10% or less,” he adds. The expert notes that in conditions of limited monetary resources, it is impossible to endlessly increase the photo – this will lead to cash gaps. In Lazarevsky they say that if last year the salary in the company increased by 17%, then this year the increase will be approximately 10%.

Elena Kitobik explains that salary increase can only have a short -term effect: competitors instantly react in the same way. With the achievement of the limit of profitability, this process will slow down, she says. In Econiv, the increase in salaries is effective in the framework of the struggle for attracting, but not holding personnel. In Cherkizovo, staff motivation is considered a complex process, which should also include opportunities for growth, training and a comfortable working environment.

Julia Mankova, head of the Consumer Consulting Company, “Consumer Products” of the Consulting Company, calls effective tools of work, internship programs, and strengthen the employer’s brand. Arthur Gafarov considers the problem of solving the problem of personnel deficit the problem of the level of automation and the import of labor from far abroad countries. The resources of the post -Soviet countries are already close to exhaustion, the expert says.
