The flag of Israel, designed on the Romanian Parliament building

The Permanent Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies has approved a request from the deputy of the Jewish community in Romania, Silviu Vexler, regarding the design of the flag of the state of Israel on the Parliament building on Tuesday evening.

In the Parliament, the Day of Solidarity and Friendship between Romania and the State of Israel is celebrated on Tuesday.

« Although it was almost continuously in a hostile environment, the state of Israel remained a symbol of democracy, a model for a tolerant society, but also a global landmark for research and innovation. One of the essential partners of Romania both in the Middle East and Worldwide, the State of Israel has permanently supported our country and the Romanian people, making major contributions that have materialized in numerous areas of national interest.« is shown in the request of the president of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Romania.

According to the parliamentarian, there are privileged relations between Romania and the state of Israel, which have a strategic character, constituted on fundamental historical, political, cultural and moral connections.

‘Considering that, in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 86/2024, the Day of Solidarity and Friendship between Romania and the State of Israel will be celebrated, I have a special honor to propose the design of the flag of the state of Israel on the entire building of the Romanian Parliament on the evening of May 20, 2025. This symbolic gesture will be an excellent opportunity to reiterate and develop the strong friendship between the two countries, the two -country and the special friend of Romania will reiterate and develop.
