The first international meeting on the exhibition « EXPO 2027 » began in Belgrade, students protest – economics

More than 400 officials, state secretaries, directors, national institutions, in their countries, sports, tourism, culture, innovation, education and youth, as well as representatives of four major international organizations, participate in a two-day general meeting.

During this time, a group of students in blocking the Faculty of Architecture and citizens who oppose the international exhibition « Expo 2027 » gathered this morning in front of the Sava Center.

Mali: Expo biggest development chance

Minister of Finance Siniša Mali said at the opening of the meeting that « EXPO 2027 » is the largest development chance not only for Serbia, but also for the entire region.

He reminded that 18 billion euros would be allocated to improve travel and railway infrastructure in Serbia, but also in order to further invest education, health, culture and other areas.

The Mali stated that a completely new complex was built in Belgrade, which will take place « EXPO 2027 », which extends to more than 200 hectares.

« It will be the most modern exhibition and congress complex, together with the National Stadium and 1,500 apartment participants, » said the Minister of Finance, and will deliver the keys to the Expo exhibition to the participating countries.

He said that 114 countries have confirmed so far that they will participate in a specialized exhibition « EXPO 2027 » in Belgrade.

« For five and a half months, the participation of 114 countries presented here gives me hope that we will receive more and more confirmation about participation. I am not a goal that we have EXPOs with the largest number of participants, » Mali said.

He reminded that there were 117 participating countries at the Expo exhibition in Astana and to expect that record would be exceeded in Belgrade.

Kerkentzes: Today’s meeting the beginning of a new chapter for Serbia

The Secretary General of the International Bureau for Dimitri Kerkentzes emphasized that today’s meeting means the beginning of a new chapter for Serbia, Southeast Europe, as well as the entire international community.

« For the first time, a specialized EXPO exhibition will be held in the Western Balkans, in the region of various cultures, heritage and dynamic creativity, » Kerkentzes said.

According to him, through « Expo 2027 », the world will reveal new perspectives, new opportunities for connecting and inspiration. ;

« The theme of this Expo Loot, play for humanity, music and sports, » Kerkentzes rated and pointed out that sports and music goes the language, culture and generations, not to conflict, call for participation, not to divide.

Borovcanin: Meeting opportunities for delegations to get to know the topic « EXPO 2027 »

The gathering was also greeted by the director of the company « EXPO 2027 » Belgrade Dušan Borovčanin.

The meeting in Belgrade is the first of four international preparatory meetings, so that all participants in the exhibition « EXPO 2027 » would be introduced to the results of previous preparations, and further steps and activities in preparations for the exhibition will be presented.

The meeting will undergo technical details with representatives of foreign delegations, ie procedures and activities that they must implement in order to have a successful performance at the exhibition in Belgrade.

The meeting is also an opportunity for delegations to get acquainted with the topic and concept of « EXPO 2027 », master plan, construction, logistics and operations, as well as digital platforms for participants.

Interested countries and those who have already confirmed participation, through a series of meetings, plenary sessions and presentations will be able to get acquainted with the organizational team of the exhibition, the way of the Web portal for international participants, as well as the program, content and logistics in connection with the exhibition.

Representatives of countries will also be able to obtain technical information on the construction and design of pavilions and the entire construction site, but also a special exhibition space at the Belgrade Fair, which will soon be open to the public, and will represent a kind of simulation of « Expo 2027 ».

Representatives of foreign delegations will also have the opportunity to visit the EXPO construction site tomorrow, and will be able to find out at the Belgrade Fair, which can be expected at the upcoming specialized exhibition.

The Specialized Exhibition « EXPO 2027 » Belgrade will be held from 15. May to 15. August 2027. years.

It will be the first international exhibition in the Western Balkans and the largest global event that Serbia has ever organized.

The topic of the exhibition is « Game (J) for humanity: sports and music for all », with three subtires: Power of play, play together and play (s), and highlights the values ​​of universality, cooperation, creativity and development through play.
