A hanger or a closet?

When it comes to specific storage solutions, the interior designer notes that using only hangers may not look quite neat, so it is worth investing in a cabinet where outerwear will fit.

If everyday coats and jackets are stored on an easy -to -reach hanger and other seasons clothes and footwear – behind closed doors, you will meet a quiet and neat atmosphere every time you return home.

If you need space for longer coats or, for example, children’s backpacks, several additional crosses can be attached to the wall at different heights.

Where to put your shoes

The small hallway space is limited, so the common storage furniture often has no space for footwear. It is worth choosing separate shoe cabinets or benches to maximize the use of the available area.

Eight pairs of shoes can fit in a four -compartment cabinet of just 17 cm. Such a solution is perfect for narrow hallways.

« If you do not want to leave the room with the baseboards and leave the space behind the cabinet, I suggest you choose which legs are only mounted in the front so as not to interfere with the wall, » advises the interior designer.

Both practical and beautiful

The hallway should be cozy, not confused. According to the interior expert, there are smart solutions that allow you to install a functional and hospitable space even in a small area.

A narrow bench with a storage compartment is a convenient place to sit down with boots, and a great secret place for scarves, hats or other accessories.

« It is also worth having a mirror in the hallway – hung in a well thought out, it will not only allow you to evaluate your outfit for the last time before leaving the door, but also reflects the light, so the room will look more spacious, » says M. Bučinskienė.

For a mat – an important function

Door rugs and carpets in the hallway also perform an important function: they enliven the interior and collect dirt and dust, which is especially important when changing seasons.

It is important to try to bring it as little as possible to carry the dirt around the house. Choosing an outdoor rug, which is reminiscent of a brush, cleaning the shoes in it will leave most of the dirt behind the door.

« And the choice of indoor rugs is unlimited: you can choose one that covers the entire entrance area, fits in with the hallway furniture or just attracts an eye with playful patterns. In addition, the carpet in the hallway instantly gives coziness, » says interior designer, reminding that such solutions often cost just a few euros.
