The ceasefires that Trump announced on Saturday was limited in content. It was only agreed to lay down the weapons. There is not yet a diplomatic solution for the long -term fight between neighboring countries that escalated after an attack in which 26 tourists were killed. On Monday the parties will talk further – about sharing water from the River Indus and about whether or not to support terrorists by Pakistan.

Poor people the victim

On Saturday, for the 56-year-old Rathika felt « on or under it, » she says while she walks home with groceries in hand from the neighborhood store in the Jangpura district, in the south of the capital New Delhi. « There was something in the air – or maybe I hoped that every time waking up and trying to estimate which intentions the soldiers now have again. A 25 -year -old woman from the center says he hopes on Saturday afternoon « that shooting stops quickly » because « ordinary and poor people are always the victims. » At the same time, she believes that India should be ‘not too soft’ in the coming negotiations. « Pakistan should not walk over us – otherwise something like that will happen again in Pahalgam. » Pahalgam is the mountain village in the Indian part of Kashmir where tourists were killed on April 22. Witnesses later told that the men – women and children were left untouched – who did not know Koran verses were shot. India accused Pakistan of being behind the terror group who claimed the attack. Pakistan denied.

The 25 -year -old woman visited Pahalgam two weeks before the attack took place there. « We are so vulnerable, apparently. » That also feels her girlfriend who came to visit her this weekend in New Delhi. « I found it exciting to travel under these circumstances, actually. The capital is much more target than the city where I live, Bengaluru in the south. »

Sathiik Raj did not expect the shelling to reach the capital in recent days. « I was not really afraid that Delhi would be hit, you know. The cities and military bases that were confronted with (largely thwarted) drone and rocket attacks are more towards the border with Pakistan, in the States Punjab and Rajasthan and the Indian part of Kashmir. « I have seen a lot of images of that, » Raj continues. « On social media, I followed the most news about the military operations. There are a few accounts that distribute verified information. But it is paying attention, there was also a lot of fake news – by accounts who want us to believe that the Pakistani armed forces always defeat and destroyed our military bases. »

At the end of the evening, the Indian Foreign Minister Vikrak Miskri says in a press conference that India will ‘appropriate’ answer to the violation of the file.
